Stone Island | Avalon Clothing Company

Stone Island is known around the world as one of the most exclusive and sought after brands in menswear but first and foremost, that iconic Stone Island Compass badge on your sleeve is a symbol of quality, design innovation and style — the principles on which Stone Island as we know it was founded back in 1982. Avalon Clothing Company first introduced Stone Island in 2013. Since then, we have become well known for our selection of Stone Island hoodies, Stone Island jackets, and Stone Island pants. In March 2020 we added an extensive selection of Stone Island Sale items to our mens sale selection.
Owner-designer Carlo Rivetti hails from a family who has been involved in the clothing industry for decades. After years in the business, he decided to venture away from formalwear and begin exploring something more approachable and wearable - sportswear. He searched Italy looking for companies that shared his vision for innovative casual clothing, where he acquired clothing line CP Company. At CP Company, the owner-designer Massimo Osti had created a new fabric called Tela Stella, a heavy material filled with different color pigments on either side. Osti knew he had to make something out of it. He couldn’t find a way to make it fit within CP Company’s collection so he designed and created a capsule collection of seven jackets. In line with the Tela Stella fabric, Osti knew the design needed to be both nautical and military inspired. Osti created a compass logo for his new line: Stone Island was born. If you are looking for Stone Island menswear, look no further than Avalon Clothing Company. We appreciate the unique design of Stone Island jackets, Stone Island vest and Stone Island t-shirts. The wide range of colors and fabrics make our Stone Island shorts stand out in the crowd. If you haven’t seen the Stone Island mens clothing at Avalon Clothing Company in Vail and Beaver Creek, Colorado be sure to stop in to see our new arrivals as well as our Stone Island sale section.
Osti continued to move forward with fabric innovation and continued to research different types of textiles, thus coming up with often completely unique fabrics that no one had ever used or seen before. This season we are especially enjoying the Stone Island crinkle and cordura lines. These fabrics are unlike any other and you’ll love adding them to your Stone Island collection,
The continuous design and research that Massimo Osti began all those years ago has continued into today as Stone Island is cemented in it’s reputation for using unusual and technologically-advanced fabrics and finishes. Some recent examples:
- Micro Reps: Stone Island Micro Reps is one of the brand’s staple fabric constructions. A classic nylon, the warp and weft fibers are of different thicknesses, allowing for a much tighter weave than a traditional nylon fabric. This not only provides natural weather resistance, but serves as the ideal base for the brand’s garment dyeing experiments.
- Nylon Metal: Nylon fibers with an irregular structure are woven as grey weft and white, ready to dye warp threads, and undergo an elaborate double-dyeing process to produce a fabric that has an iridescent sheen in different lighting conditions. This can produce a subtle three-dimensional effect, or be used with bright, contrasting colors to provide some pretty interesting results.
- Tank Shield: Crafted from matte polyester fabric, the whole jacket is first assembled and then internally laminated with overlapping panels of a weatherproof, breathable membrane, giving superior weather resistance and an almost seamless look.
