A story rooted in Romagna, specifically in Savignano sul Rubicone, land of history, where Julius Caesar said the famous “Alea iacta est”. In 1952, Agostino Maremonti and Spartaco Onofri were two young men with a shared idea: to create a high quality shirt, distinguished for its sober design.

During those years, Singer organised introductory courses directed at using the new automatic machines. The course was welcomed by the Parish of Savignano, where the first Alea workshop would be located.

It was an innovative idea. So, at the end of the 1950s, the first company headquarters were opened which, even though in a small way, were equipped with the best production machines available on the market.

At the end of the 1960s, Alea held a leading position in the Italian market, which continued throughout the 1970s and 1980s and with it, the consolidation of the company.

Today, the company has a new organisational structure thanks also to the incoming second generation of entrepreneurs, Andrea Maremonti and Claudio Onofri who personify present-day Alea. With an eye to tradition and an eye to the future.
